About JIBS
Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) conducts research and offers undergraduate and graduate programmes, a doctoral programme and executive education. Together these activities form an internationally competitive business school, especially in the areas of entrepreneurship and business renewal.
There has been a very positive development since the launch in 1994. This has been achieved by the expansion of courses, undergraduate and graduate programmes and research at JIBS, along with a hard and well motivated strive for development. Because of a fast recruitment process due to the fact that JIBS is part of a foundation and not state owned, we have been able to employ highly qualified professors making JIBS very competitive among business schools in both the Nordic countries and internationally. As of October 2009 there are 35 full professors employed at JIBS.
JIBS has rapidly established itself as being the strongest academic environment in Scandinavia for entrepreneurship and research on small and medium-sized enterprises. JIBS is internationally very well reputated when it comes to research in trade, infrastructure, regional development, media management, family ownership, and tax law.
JIBS offers three bachelor's degree programmes, in business administration, economics and business informatics, entirely in English. Two other programmes, one in law and one in business administration and economics, are partly taught in Swedish.
Each programme is directly linked to industry. Most of the students work with host company projects where they solve real problems facing enterprises. The international dimension of the school means that students and faculty cross both physical frontiers and cultural barriers.
JIBS also offers five master programmes, in Innovation and Business Creation, International Economics, Information Technology and Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management and the Economics and Management of Entertainment and Arts Industries.
The Doctoral programme involves Business Administration, Informatics, Economics and Law. So far about 60 PhDs is the result of hard work in the research departments at JIBS.
