Academic Calendar
The academic year consists of 40 weeks, divided into two semesters. Each of these two semesters is divided into two 10 week quarters, and full-time study is two courses per quarter, or four courses per semester or eight per year. The autumn semester runs from the middle or end of August to December**.
The spring semester runs from mid January to the beginning of June. There is usually a two-week teaching break at Christmas. There is no break between or during the quarters so international students wishing to travel for more than a weekend in Sweden or Europe should do so either before or after their study period at JIBS. Attendance is compulsory during our two induction weeks for all new students.

* Students arriving before or after the regular arrival dates must find their own way to their accommodation.
**Students cannot formally leave before December 22, 2010.
