Economics and Management of Entertainment & Arts, 120 ECTS

Master level

This master programme is oriented towards the economic and technological conditions of the entertainment, arts and experience industries, and the managerial methods that are crucial for enabling improved management and strategic thinking within these industries.

The most important reasons for an advanced education with this orientation are the extremely rapid ongoing expansion of consumption and production of recreation goods and services, which is closely connected with the growth of total leisure time in the advanced economies. At the same time, users and consumers are becoming increasingly demanding. The quality of management in these industries has not developed in a way that would allow for fulfilling their potential.

A basic objective for this programme is to offer an education that can be greatly attractive in the international labour market, and thus to provide a master degree that provides an excellent basis for students to meet with any current and future international standards in the entertainment and arts industries.

The four semesters focus on:

  1. Analysis of creative experience industries, occupations and regions
  2. Entrepreneurship, marketing and technological conditions of entertainment and arts industries
  3. The creative company and its relations to public and private institutions
  4. Master thesis work. The programme is concluded with a 30 ECTS master thesis on a topic related to economics,  management or technology of entertainment, experience and arts Industries

During all semesters guest lectures by significant creators, managers and producers in the arts and entertainment industries will be held.

The third semester can be spent abroad at one of JIBS worldwide partner universities. It can also be used for doing an international internship or for participating in a PBM project for a company.
