JIBS - a truly international business school

Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) is the most international business school in Sweden. We have the largest study abroad programme of any Swedish business school. Approximately 80 percent of all our students study abroad at one of our partner universities for at least one semester. Many students study abroad for two or even three semesters. In addition, JIBS has more courses in English than any other business school in Sweden (see Courses). These courses are completely integrated with both international students from around the world and our own Swedish students. Furthermore, the programmes that we offer have an international focus.

JIBS also has more partner universities, more than 200 spanning six continents and over 70 countries, than any other business school in Sweden. These universities have made agreements with JIBS in one or all of the following areas:

1) student exchange
2) faculty exchange and visits
3) research
4) course/curriculum development.

Lastly, JIBS sends out more students to study abroad (approximately 380) and brings in more international students to study at JIBS (approximately 750) each year than any other business school in Sweden. In addition, we have a number of international faculty from different countries, and our Swedish faculty also possess vast international experience.

International students coming to JIBS as exchange students must come from one of JIBS's partner universities. Exchange students remain registered at their home university, but the courses they take at JIBS can generally be counted towards their degree at home. Exchange students usually study at JIBS for one or two semesters.

More information about studying at JIBS as an exchange student can be found under International Exchange Students.

In addition, JIBS has three bachelor programmes taught entirely in English:
- the International Management program (a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration)
- the Business and IT Management programme on the bachelor level (a Bachelor of Science in Informatics)
the International Economics and Policy program (Bachelor of Science in Economics)

They are all three year programmes. More information about these three programmes and how to apply can be found under Bachelor Programmes.

With an intake in the autumn of 2009 JIBS offers an integrated two year master programme with five different tracks leading to the Master of Science degree:

- Innovation and Business Creation
- Economics and Finance
- Economics and Management of Entertainment & Arts
- Information Technology and Management
- International Logistics and Supply Chain Management

More information about these programme tracks and how to apply can be found under Master Programmes.

All these programs are open to international students as well as Swedish students.

Lastly, JIBS has a doctoral programme which is open to international students. The subjects you can become a PhD in are business administration, economics, political science, informatics and law.

It takes about five years to complete a doctoral programme. More information about these programmes can be found under the Doctoral Programme.
